Grandpa Jay

Thought I would take a second for a small
tribute to an incredible man, Grandpa Jay.
We got a call early Monday morning informing us that
he had passed away. He was in the hospital following surgery,
but we all were a bit surprised that he was taken at this time;
however, he did strike me as a man who
has always followed the Prophet, even in death.
For years he has struggled and fought battles with Parkinson's,
Cancer, broken bones, etc. and has done so with faith, strength,
and courage. I have only known him for 3 years but am so greatful
for the example he has been to me of hard work, strength, faith,
selfless service, and so many other wonderful qualities.
Not only am I grateful for his example to me but for the wonderful
influence he has had on my incredible husband.
Each life he touched, he changed for good.
He will be greatly missed!

I am sad this is the only picture I could find of Lance and I with Jay and Erma. The quality/resolution is not the best, but the memories are priceless.

Since I don't think Lance reads the comments...mostly because I wonder if Mike knows we have a blog...tell him I am sorry about his Grandpa...he really sounds like a great man!

Hi Brittany. What a sweet write-up about Jay. The funeral was great and it was nice to see Lance. He (and his brothers) were quite emotional, as I'm sure you can imagine. I'm know he missed you. And, I can relate to your ice experience. I fell down HARD when I was holding one of the twins when they were babies. I flipped on my back to protect him - and my butt and hips hurt for two weeks! Ahhh....
